Our Mission Statement

Highbury Korfball Club is committed to making Korfball accessible and open to everyone who wants to be involved in the game. We recognise the importance of and are committed to equity, diversity, equal opportunities, fair treatment and respect to all involved in our club.

We will achieve this by upholding the principles of equal opportunity in every aspect of the work we do. We support the development and implementation of practices that do not discriminate and this is written into our club rules. For more detailed information, please refer to our important documents below that our club have signed or are in support of, and contact our Welfare Officer if you have any questions or concerns.

Mental Health Charter for Sport & Recreation

Highbury Korfball Club are proud to have signed The Sport and Recreational Alliance (SRA) mental health charter, which aims to use sport to reduce stigma and encourage positive conversation about mental health. Sport and exercise have been shown to have positive impacts on mental health, but there’s always more we can do to help!

The Charter sets out how sport and recreation organisations can make activities inclusive, positive and open to everyone. We’ve put together an action plan – which we review every year – to build upon the supportive and open environment that already exists within Highbury.

If you ever need someone to chat to about your mental health, our Welfare Office is the first port of call. Alternatively, any member of the committee or your coaches are happy to have a chat about anything that may be on your mind.

We’re always open to suggestions on how we can make changes to the club to improve the mental health of our members. So if you have any ideas, please get in touch!

The Mental Health Foundation have also put together this compilation of resources and links to organisations that can help as well if you’re struggling.
